About
My day job started as a City and Guilds carpenter and joiner, presently a Chartered Building Engineer.
As a Saturday job, partime woodcollier and green woodworker, although only part time a little bit of experance with over 30 years charcoal production ring kilns and earth burns , wooden hay rakes, bessom brooms , thatching spars , gypsie style clothes pegs and hazel flowers , replacement tool handles by necessity and pole lathe as it keeps the shavings outside of the shed .
Founder member and past chair of the Hampshire Coppice Group , founder member of Dorset Coppice Group , and member of Devon Coppice and Smallwoods Group as I have long-standing connections with Devon.
I have been lucky enough to rub shoulders with the old masters who carried out the above trades as just a job in the 1960’s. Some of whom were prepared to show a nipper in the early 1990’s the finer points as he could do a bit, and I have subsequently acted as a link man teaching it back in to the new age woodlanders.
